Jeff Tedford takes up Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator role

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers appoint former California Golden Bears head coach Jeff Tedford as their offensive coordinator.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have appointed Jeff Tedford as their new offensive coordinator.

The former California Golden Bears head coach is the first appointment since Lovie Smith took charge of the team earlier this week.

The new head coach told the team's official website: "We are very fortunate to have Jeff as our offensive coordinator.

"I have a great deal of respect for the job Jeff did at Cal for more than a decade and I believe he will be a great fit for what we are attempting to do in Tampa.

"Jeff has a successful and proven track record as a teacher and developer of young talent and I know our players, and the organisation as a whole, will benefit from his experience."

Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier has been linked with the vacant defensive coordinator role.
