Zara McDermott reveals that she has no intention of appearing on any more reality TV shows and is planning to train to become a producer.

Former Love Island and Made In Chelsea star Zara McDermott has revealed that she is done with reality TV and will not return to the format in future.

The 24-year-old appeared alongside boyfriend Sam Thompson on Made In Chelsea for several years but has not appeared in either of the series that have aired in 2021.

Instead McDermott has fronted two acclaimed documentaries for BBC Three - one about revenge porn and another about rape culture in schools - and is now planning to focus on presenting and train as a TV producer.

"I've definitely quit doing reality TV. I stopped doing reality around a year ago," she told The Sun. "I have closed that chapter of my life.

"I did it for three years and now it's time for the next chapter of my life. I won't be going back to Made In Chelsea."

She continued: "My main goal for next year is to study to become a producer. I want to start producing the documentaries and programmes I'm involved with.

"I want to focus on the important issues that are affecting young people. You are put into a certain box when you are on reality TV. People think you are stupid.

"I will never regret doing reality TV because I have loved it but that is in the past for me now."

Zara McDermott: Uncovering Rape Culture is available now on iPlayer.
