AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has revealed that he would welcome striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to San Siro with "open arms".

The Paris Saint-Germain ace, who left Milan in 2012, has been linked with a return to the Rossoneri for much of the summer following a controversial incident in March.

The Swede, 33, came under fire for a post-match rant directed at a referee in which he referred to France as a "shit country", though he later clarified his comments. He was subsequently slapped with a four-match ban, which was reduced to three after appeal.

"If Ibrahimovic wants to come to Milan, we would welcome him with open arms," he told reporters.

"Ibrahimovic has had a very difficult stay in France because of his sentence that caused a negative reaction among the French public."

Ibrahimovic, whose contract at Parc de Princes expires next summer, has fired les Parisiens to three successive Ligue 1 titles.
