Arsenal scout Dominik Szoboszlai as Granit Xhaka replacement?

Arsenal reportedly view Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as a potential replacement for Granit Xhaka in the January transfer window.

Arsenal have reportedly pinpointed Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai as a potential replacement for Granit Xhaka in the January transfer window.

The midfielder has not been included in recent squads against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City following his public outburst towards the Emirates support during a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last month.

Xhaka, who has since been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy, is expected to find a new club in January, with AC Milan reportedly favourites to sign him.

According to Football Insider, Gunners scouts will watch Szoboszlai during Hungary's Euro 2020 qualifier with Wales on Tuesday.

The North London club have a long-standing interest in the 19-year-old, who has emerged as one of the most promising midfielders over the past 18 months.

It is claimed that both Milan and Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the Salzburg midfielder ahead of January.
