Arsenal winger Marquinhos joins Ligue 1 side Nantes on a season-long loan for the 2023-24 campaign.

Arsenal attacker Marquinhos has joined French Ligue 1 side Nantes on loan for the 2023-24 season.

The 20-year-old returned to the Gunners for pre-season after spending the second half of the 2022-23 campaign with Norwich City, where he scored one goal and set up another in 11 appearances.

However, Marquinhos's path to the Arsenal first team is currently blocked by Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira, and he has been sent out on loan again in order to continue his development.

The Brazilian left Sao Paulo in the summer of 2022 to join Mikel Arteta's side and shone during his first-team debut against FC Zurich in the Europa League, coming up with a goal and assist to seal a 2-1 win for the Gunners.

Marquinhos made his Premier League debut off the bench in a 3-0 win over Brentford not long after, but he failed to make a consistent impact ahead of his switch to Carrow Road.

The 20-year-old follows Charlie Patino out of the Emirates exit door after the English midfielder signed for Swansea City on a temporary deal.
