Sunday's La Liga predictions including Espanyol vs. Barcelona

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Espanyol vs. Barcelona.

Celta Vigo vs. Valencia (Sunday, 1.00pm)

Valencia will be bidding to give their La Liga survival hopes a boost when they travel to Abanca-Balaidos on Sunday afternoon to take on an out-of-form Celta Vigo team.

The visitors are currently 17th in the table, level on points with 18th-placed Getafe, while Celta sit 13th, only five points ahead of the relegation zone entering the final straight.

We say: Celta Vigo 1-1 Valencia

There is simply no downplaying the importance of this match, and a win for Valencia would boost their survival hopes while pulling Celta into the battle to avoid the drop. It would not be a surprise to see a home or away win here, but we just have a feeling that the points will ultimately be shared in a low-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Elche vs. Atletico (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Atletico Madrid will be aiming to, mathematically at least, keep their La Liga title hopes alive when they travel to already-relegated Elche on Sunday afternoon.

Diego Simeone's side are second in the table, 13 points behind leaders Barcelona with five games left, while Elche have been comfortably relegated to the Segunda Division for next season, sitting rock bottom of the division on 16 points.

We say: Elche 0-3 Atletico Madrid

Atletico have arguably been the best La Liga team since the turn of the year, and they will be looking to finish the season strongly with a view to claiming second. Elche are now playing under no pressure, which should help them, but we are struggling to predict anything other than a comfortable away success here.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Valladolid vs. Sevilla (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Two teams with plenty to fight for in the closing stages of the 2022-23 La Liga campaign will meet on Sunday evening, with Real Valladolid welcoming Sevilla to Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla.

The home side are currently 16th in the table, just one point outside of the relegation zone, while Sevilla occupy 11th, only three points behind seventh-placed Girona in the race for European football.

We say: Real Valladolid 1-1 Sevilla

There is no question that Sevilla will be thinking about the second leg of their Europa League semi-final, which should hand Real Valladolid an advantage. The home side's recent form is a concern, though, and we are therefore struggling to back them to win, instead settling on a low-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Espanyol vs. Barcelona (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Barcelona may already be confirmed as 2022-23 La Liga champions ahead of Sunday's Barcelona derby with Espanyol, who are battling for their lives at the bottom of the table.

Slip-ups for second-placed Atletico Madrid and third-placed Real Madrid would allow Xavi's side to win the title before kicking another ball, but they will also be confirmed as the champions with a victory over an Espanyol outfit that are 19th in the division, three points from the safety of 17th position.

We say: Espanyol 1-2 Barcelona

Espanyol are in desperate need of the points, which should make it a very competitive match this weekend. Barcelona's record against their rivals cannot be ignored, though, and Xavi's side have also had a long period to prepare for this match, so they should be able to claim all three points, which may or may not be required to win the title.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.
