Josep Maria Bartomeu: 'No new plans for January transfer window'

Barcelona have "no plans for the winter market", despite losing Ousmane Dembele to injury, according to club president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has insisted that the club will not delve into the transfer window when it reopens, despite the loss of record signing Ousmane Dembele.

The Catalan giants expect to be without the France international until the start of January at the earliest after he tore his hamstring during the La Liga win over Getafe at the weekend.

Barca, who missed out on a number of attacking targets during the summer, have already been linked with a string of high-profile replacements in recent days.

Bartomeu believes that Dembele is on course to be back up and running for the start of 2018, however, meaning that the club's transfer plans have not altered.

"There are no plans for the winter market," he told TVE. "[Dembele] will be back and he will show us all what we have already seen."

Philippe Coutinho was a long-term target for Barcelona during the summer months, while Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane and Paris Saint-Germain attacker Angel di Maria have also been touted as possible targets.
