Juventus director Fabio Paratici says that Barcelona forward Luis Suarez will not be joining the Italian club this summer.

Juventus director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that the Italian champions will not be signing Barcelona forward Luis Suarez during this summer's transfer window.

The Uruguay international has been strongly linked with a move to Turin after allegedly being told by new Barca boss Ronald Koeman that he is surplus to requirements at Camp Nou.

Juve boss Andrea Pirlo recently admitted that concerns over securing an Italian passport for the 33-year-old meant that a deal was unlikely to take place this summer.

Paratici has now officially ruled the Serie A giants out of the running for the experienced striker, however.

"Luis Suarez is not on our list. He's not a target for Juventus. He'll not have the Italian passport during the transfer window so we can't sign him. We considered Suarez as an option but he was not close to join," Paratici told Sky Sport.

Suarez, who has recently been linked with Atletico Madrid, scored 21 times and registered 12 assists in 36 outings at club level last term.
