Brentford forward Yoane Wissa signs a new contract that is set to keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2026.

Brentford forward Yoane Wissa has signed a new contract to extend his stay in West London until at least June 2026.

Despite having to settle for 13 starts in the top flight this term, Wissa has featured in all 34 of Brentford's Premier League games, registering five goals and two assists.

Brentford have confirmed that the attacker has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal, with an option for a further year.

Speaking to the club's official website, Brentford boss Thomas Frank expressed his delight about the news of Wissa's extension.

"I'm very pleased that Wissa has signed a new contract," Frank said. "He's been a great addition to the club since he arrived.

"He's a very good player who has proved he can score goals in the Premier League. It's a big thing to have a player like him in the squad.

"He is a constant goal threat, is good in behind, and can link up as well. He can play easily both as a winger and striker.

"He is also fantastic for the culture of the group - he brings energy and a smile every single day which drives the group forward a lot. He is a pleasure to work with."

Since Wissa arrived from Lorient in August 2021, only Ivan Toney has scored more Premier League goals for Brentford than the Democratic Republic of Congo international, who has found the net 12 times in 64 top-flight appearances.

In total, the 26-year-old has featured in 70 competitive games for the Bees, scoring 15 goals and contributing four assists.

After featuring as a substitute in the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend, Wissa will be pushing for a starting place when Brentford face Liverpool in Saturday's Premier League away meeting.

The Bees, who currently occupy ninth position, still have an outside chance of securing European football with four points separating them from the top six.
