Antonio Conte has demanded at least two new players before he agrees to take over as Real Madrid boss, according to a report.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte reportedly remains Real Madrid's preferred choice to succeed Julen Lopetegui, despite his list of demands.

Conte is seen as the frontrunner to take over from Lopetegui, who was sacked by Los Blancos on Monday after just 14 games in charge.

The 49-year-old is in talks with Madrid chiefs over the high-profile position, according to Marca, but the Spanish outlet also claims that his requests have slowed down the process of appointing him.

It is suggested that Conte, out of work since being given the shove by Chelsea at the end of last season, has asked for a new centre-back and a poacher to lead the line.

Madrid are currently unwilling to fulfil the Italian's requirements, however, which has made the potential move complicated.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is another alternative for the European champions.
