Chelsea and Barcelona are reportedly considering an approach for Grasshoppers Zurich defender Allan Arigoni.

Chelsea and Barcelona have reportedly identified Grasshoppers Zurich defender Allan Arigoni as a potential signing.

While both teams are looking for first-team additions before the end of the transfer window, Frank Lampard and Quique Setien will have one eye on further improving their back-up options.

According to Blick, both clubs are assessing the progression of Arigoni, who is regarded as one of the fastest full-backs in European football.

Despite the 21-year-old currently plying his trade in the Swiss second tier, he has represented his country at Under-18, Under-19 and Under-20 level.

Arigoni still has over two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract, although Grasshoppers are unlikely to stand in his way if a top club meet their valuation.
