Chelsea's Oscar turned down big-money move to Chinese Super League

Chelsea midfielder Oscar reveals that he turned down a big-money move to a Chinese Super League club.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar has revealed that he turned down a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League in the January transfer window.

The top-flight in East Asia have been heavy spenders in the last two months, having bought numerous well-known players including Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Jackson Martinez and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has also reportedly attracted interest from the Chinese Super League, but has rejected their advances.

It is believed that a £58m offer from Jiangsu Suning came in for Oscar, but the Brazilian has no desire to leave the Premier League.

"There was interest in me but I've no desire to leave Europe," The Independent quotes Oscar as saying. "The idea of moving to China would be such a huge change for me and would go against everything I've achieved so far.

"Chelsea are a fantastic, very big club and I'm still young. I'm only 24 so I've got a lot of football ahead of me."

Oscar moved to Stamford Bridge from Internacional in 2012.
