Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell undergoes a scan to establish the extent of a hamstring injury that could rule him out of the World Cup.

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has undergone a scan on a hamstring injury to establish whether he will be ruled out for the World Cup.

The England international was forced off in the latter stages of Wednesday's 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

Chilwell was spotted on crutches after the game, while Chelsea boss Graham Potter told reporters that it was "not looking positive."

According to the Daily Mail, Chilwell was scheduled to undergo a scan on Friday to establish the extent of the hamstring injury.

The report claims that if the 25-year-old is ruled out of the World Cup then England boss Gareth Southgate could consider Tottenham Hotspur's Ryan Sessegnon and Leicester City's James Justin as alternatives.

Southgate is expected to name his final 26-man squad on Thursday, while England begin the World Cup against Iran on November 21.
