Neil Lennon urges Fraser Forster to "kick on" with England

Neil Lennon says that Fraser Forster should make sure that his involvement with the England team is not "short term".

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has said that he hopes Fraser Forster's involvement with the England national team is more than a "short-term thing".

The goalkeeper made his Three Lions debut on Friday night as England lost 2-0 to Chile at Wembley.

However, Lennon believes that Forster should not be too down about that result and wants him to make himself a permanent member of the squad.

"I am delighted Roy Hodgson gave him the chance and I just hope that he is not too disappointed at the result," BBC Sport quotes Lennon as saying.

"Hopefully he can kick on from that as I don't want it be a short-term thing."

Earlier Forster told of how his debut was an "inspiration".
