Sports Mole rounds up the confirmed pots for Friday's World Cup group stage draw, with England among the top seeds in Pot 1.

England will be included in Pot 1 during Friday's World Cup group stage draw after keeping their fifth-placed standing in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

The top seven qualified teams in the rankings, plus hosts Qatar, will go into the draw among the top seeds, meaning that they cannot be drawn against each other.

In addition to England and Qatar, Pot 1 also includes five-time winners and the new number-one ranked team in the world Brazil, who have moved ahead of Belgium in the rankings.

Reigning world champions France are also among the top seeds, along with Lionel Messi's Argentina, Spain and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, the latter of whom confirmed their place at the World Cup on Tuesday night.

There are also some big names in Pot 2, including four-time World Cup winners Germany, two-time winners Uruguay, 2018 runners-up Croatia and Euro 2020 semi-finalists Denmark.

Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal will be in Pot 3 alongside Robert Lewandowski's Poland, while Pot 4 contains the lowest-ranked qualified teams in addition to three placeholders for teams still yet to qualify, including Wales, Scotland or Ukraine.

Teams from the same qualifying section cannot be drawn together, although this does not apply to UEFA nations due to the number of qualified European teams.

Every group must have at least one UEFA nation included, but cannot have more than two.
