England will progress to the final of the 2018 World Cup following their last-16 win over Colombia, says former Three Lions midfielder Dennis Wise.

England will progress to the final of the 2018 World Cup following their last-16 win over Colombia, according to former Three Lions midfielder Dennis Wise.

Gareth Southgate's side came through a penalty shootout against Colombia on Tuesday night to secure their spot in the quarter-finals, with Sweden facing the Three Lions on Saturday in the last eight.

Croatia or Russia will be waiting in the semi-finals for the winner of England's clash with Sweden, and Wise has tipped his country to progress to the final of this summer's competition.

"I think we will get to the final," Wise told Sky Sports News. "I genuinely believe that. It was a great night for the team, a great night for the fans. They've got to enjoy it.

"We've got an important game on Saturday against Sweden who I think we can beat."

Should England make the final, they would face either Belgium, Brazil, France or Uruguay in Moscow on July 15.
