Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Wednesday's Merseyside derby with Everton in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp is once again set to work around the absences of five players for Liverpool's Merseyside derby encounter with Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

The Reds did not pick up any fresh concerns from the win over Southampton, but Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez all remain out of contention.

Despite the quick turnaround, Klopp should resist the urge to rotate for a derby, with Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold holding their places in the full-back areas.

Virgil van Dijk returns to the scene where he suffered his devastating ACL injury last year, and he may be partnered by Ibrahima Konate once again following his strong display in the Everton win.

Joel Matip may therefore be consigned to a place on the bench again, as will James Milner, who is still ready to deputise if Thiago Alcantara is not ready to start again in quick succession.

The Spaniard should hold his place from the off, though, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho at very little risk of losing their spots in midfield either.

Diogo Jota, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah should form an unchanged attack for the Reds, with the latter aiming to break a Liverpool record by banking a goal or assist for the seventh away game in a row in the Premier League.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Mane
