Liverpool are out to achieve a Premier League first when they travel to Kenilworth Road to face newly-promoted Luton Town on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool could write a new chapter of Premier League history when they visit Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town on Sunday afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's side are more than making amends for their underwhelming 2022-23 campaign this time around and have successfully fought on three fronts so far this term.

As well as winning each of their first three Europa League games and progressing to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup - thanks to a 2-1 beating of Bournemouth in midweek - the Reds have taken 23 points from their opening 30 on offer in the Premier League.

Seven wins, two draws and one defeat have come the way of Liverpool, who head into the 11th gameweek of the season sitting fourth in the table and could move level on points with leaders Tottenham Hotspur by claiming all three points at Luton's base.

Sunday's clash will mark the first-ever Premier League meeting between the two sides, who have not faced one another since the 2007-08 FA Cup, where Steven Gerrard scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 third-round demolition.

Should Liverpool manage to breach the Luton backline, they will earn a slice of top-flight folklore as the first team to ever score at all 61 stadiums to host a Premier League game.

The Reds' chances of achieving a Premier League first appear relatively high, as Luton have not kept a single clean sheet in any of their 10 top-flight games so far this term, while the visitors have scored at least twice in each of their last six matches across all competitions.

Liverpool have also not been shut out in an away league game since April's 0-0 draw with Chelsea, but they have conceded in each of their last six Premier League road contests on the trot, failing to win either of their last two versus Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nevertheless, Klopp has affirmed that he cannot wait to experienced the Kenilworth Road experience for himself, although the German jokingly told reporters that the size of the dressing rooms may be a concern.

"I heard about it, I didn't see it yet. I'm eight years here and it's one of the grounds I've never been [to] before, honestly I do [look forward to it]," Klopp said at his pre-game press conference.

"I see the smile on your face and it's great but in the end we have to get somehow into the dressing room and I heard it's not massive! But we will get changed and then it's a football game.

"That's all I need: a pitch, an opponent and us there. I don't know exactly how many of our fans can go there but they will for sure take all the available tickets.

"I'm really looking forward to it, it's exciting and I love the story. I don't really know but I don't think anybody expected Luton to get promoted last year; they did an exceptional job there."

Liverpool will be without Thiago Alcantara (hip), Stefan Bajcetic (calf) and Andrew Robertson (shoulder) for Sunday's game, while it remains to be seen if Luis Diaz will feature.

The Colombian attacker has trained since his parents' kidnap in his homeland, but Klopp has confirmed that Diaz will decide whether he is in the right frame of mind to compete at Kenilworth Road.
