The agent of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah once again shoots down claims that his client is set to leave the club amid talk of a lucrative bid from Al-Ittihad.

The agent of Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has once again rubbished reports linking his client with an exit from Anfield this summer.

For the past couple of years, the 31-year-old's future has been consistently called into question since he memorably refused to rule out a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Salah appeared to lay those rumours to rest by signing a new contract until 2025 last summer, but clubs in Saudi Arabia are still trying to tempt him away from the Premier League.

Reports on Monday morning claimed that Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad - who have already poached Fabinho from Liverpool this summer - had made a lucrative bid to sign the Egypt international.

Salah would also link up with Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante at Al-Ittihad, and the chief of the AFC marketing committee Hafez Al-Medlej stated earlier this summer that the attacker was of interest to teams in the region.

However, Salah's representative Ramy Abbas Issa - who often takes to social media to respond to speculation about his client's next career move - has firmly ruled out the possibility of an exit.

"If we considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn't have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains committed to LFC," Abbas Issa said in a tweet on Monday morning.

The agent had previously shot down claims that Paris Saint-Germain were advancing in talks to sign Salah, while dismissing such exit talk as "nonsense" earlier in the campaign.

Salah is now entering his seventh career as a Liverpool player since joining from Roma for €42m (£36.2m) in 2017, and he has exceeded expectations at Anfield to cement his status as an all-time Liverpool great.

The winger has scored 186 goals and set up 79 more in 305 matches for Jurgen Klopp's side, putting him level with Steven Gerrard in fifth place in the Reds' all-time top scoring charts.

While Liverpool failed to make the top four during an underwhelming 2022-23 campaign, Salah still contributed 30 goals and 16 assists from 51 games, while achieving more personal records along the way.

The ex-Chelsea man became Liverpool's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer during March's 7-0 obliteration of Manchester United, overtaking Robbie Fowler with his 128th and 129th efforts on the day.

Two months later, Salah scored his 100th goal at Anfield to give Liverpool a 1-0 win over Brentford, and his 42 strikes in European competition is more than any previous Liverpool player.

The Egypt captain remains a regular fixture in the Reds attack despite competition from Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, and he has scored once in pre-season so far, netting in a 4-4 draw with German second-tier side Greuther Furth last month.

Liverpool end their period of friendlies against SV Darmstadt 98 at Deepdale on Monday before travelling to Chelsea in their Premier League opener on August 13.
