Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

Manchester City will endeavour to keep the pressure on Premier League leaders Chelsea when they travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's side saw off West Ham United 2-1 in Arctic conditions at the weekend, with Ilkay Gundogan and Fernandinho netting before Manuel Lanzini's late consolation.

That narrow victory leaves the second-placed Citizens one point behind Chelsea with 13 games played, and top spot could be theirs for the taking if results go their way.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man City's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Kevin De Bruyne

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: December 4 (vs. Watford)

Kevin De Bruyne is still struggling with coronavirus and may not come out of self-isolation until the day of the game, so he is highly unlikely to make the cut.

Jack Grealish

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Undisclosed
Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Villa)

Jack Grealish continues to struggle with a knock sustained during the international break and was not fit to face West Ham, but there is a chance that he may be available here.

Ferran Torres

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: Unknown

Ferran Torres continues to recover from a foot fracture sustained in the Nations League Finals and will not be seen on the pitch again until 2022.

Phil Foden

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: December 1 (vs. Villa)

Phil Foden - nursing a knock - was "much better" before the West Ham game, Guardiola confirmed, so the England international could very well make his comeback in midweek.
