David de Gea: "Spain will go out on a high"

David de Gea insists that Spain will be doing their best to win their final group match against Morocco despite already being eliminated from London 2012.

Spain goalkeeper David de Gea has insisted that his team will go out on a high after a disappointing Olympic campaign.

The Manchester United keeper has been forced to watch on as Spain have had a dismal tournament, eliminated early after losing their first two games to Japan and Honduras.

De Gea says that Spain are desperate to show their quality in their final group match.

"We are going through a hard time, but we have another game and we will be professional," the 21-year-old told the Spanish Football Federation's (RFEF) official website.

"We will go flat out and try to win the match. We still trust in ourselves. We know how we play and who we are.

"It will be a special day for me as we are playing on my home pitch, in front of my people, so it will still be something special."

Morocco are Spain's opponents at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as the group stage of the men's football tournament concludes.
