Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare is open to joining Newcastle United during this summer's transfer window, according to a report.

Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare is reportedly open to joining Newcastle United this summer.

The 21-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from Les Dogues during the January transfer window but ultimately remained with his French club beyond the deadline.

The speculation surrounding Soumare's future has continued to gather pace, though, with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Liverpool all thought to be admirers.

Soumare has made 30 appearances at club level during the 2019-20 campaign, although he lost his place in the team in the latter stages of January after allegedly falling out with head coach Christophe Galtier.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, the France Under-21 international would be open to moving to the Magpies during this summer's transfer window, providing that their takeover is completed.

Steve Bruce's side could soon become the richest side in the Premier League as a Saudi consortium are reportedly in talks to purchase the club from Mike Ashley.
