Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio suggests that Manchester United loanee Alexis Sanchez may still remain at San Siro on a permanent basis.

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has suggested that Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez has an opportunity to earn a permanent deal at San Siro.

Since linking up with the Italian giants on a temporary basis, Sanchez has scored just once from seven starts and eight substitute appearances in all competitions.

While it appears likely that Inter will opt against paying the Chile international's wages in full at a later date, it appears that the versatile attacker is not certain to return to Old Trafford later in 2020.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Ausilio said: "He'll stay with us until the end of the season, then we'll decide about his future with Manchester United. He'll have the opportunity to show his skills."

Although United may be open to facilitating Sanchez's return to the first-team squad, club officials would prefer to get the 31-year-old off their books.
