Leicester City 'want world-record fee for Harry Maguire'

Leicester City want between £80m and £90m for Harry Maguire amid interest from Manchester United and Manchester City, according to a report.

Leicester City are reportedly prepared to allow Harry Maguire to leave the King Power Stadium this summer providing that they receive a world-record fee for the England international.

Maguire has reportedly made it clear that he wants to leave Leicester this summer amid talk of firm interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.

According to The Telegraph, Brendan Rodgers's side would be prepared to sell the 26-year-old ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, although it will take a bid of between £80m and £90m to open contract talks.

The report claims that the Foxes want a world-record fee for a defender, eclipsing the £75m that Liverpool spent to land Virgil van Dijk from Southampton in January 2018.

However, it is understood that Maguire will not submit an official transfer request despite telling Leicester that he wants to seek pastures new in this summer's transfer window.

The Englishman, who only signed a new five-year contract at the King Power Stadium last September, has scored five times in 76 appearances for the Foxes since arriving from Hull City in 2017.
