Manchester United are reportedly prepared to let Paul Pogba leave the club for free next summer and have no plans to sell him in January.

Manchester United have reportedly stated they are happy to let Paul Pogba leave on a free transfer next summer.

The Frenchman's current deal at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season, meaning that he would be able to negotiate a pre-contract with an overseas club in January.

Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to be interested in signing Pogba but are unlikely to make an offer to buy him in the new year when they know they will be able to get him for nothing six months later.

According to The Telegraph, this will suit Man United fine as they have no plans to sell the midfielder in January and are prepared to let him go for free next summer.

A club source reportedly told the outlet that they "did not see why we would consider" selling Pogba midway through the campaign.

The report adds that United have been in discussions with the 28-year-old and his agent Mino Raiola over a new deal and there could still be a "twist" before the end of the season, but ultimately he is expected to leave and the club are content with this.

Pogba has made 211 appearances and scored 38 goals since returning to Old Trafford in 2016.
