Manchester United reportedly put their transfer plans on hold ahead of attempting to secure Champions League qualification at the weekend.

Manchester United officials have reportedly ended any discussions regarding transfers until next week.

Since the turn of the year, United have been heavily linked with several big-money bids, which includes a probable approach for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

However, the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic mean that the Premier League giants cannot commit to an extravagant spending plan if they are not generating significant income.

According to the Manchester Evening News, this has led to a delay in further discussions ahead of United attempting to qualify for next season's Champions League.

The North-West outfit head into Sunday's Premier League encounter at Leicester City requiring just a point to confirm their place at European football's top table.

Defeat to the Foxes, combined with a positive result for Chelsea against Wolverhampton Wanderers, would leave United having to rely on winning the Europa League.

Failure to achieve either goal is likely to lead to United having to alter their strategy with regards to acquiring new players.
