Manchester United and Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the progress of Hertha Berlin midfielder Arne Maier.

The 19-year-old has played every minute of Hertha Berlin's Bundesliga campaign so far, establishing himself as a key part of a team which has made an unbeaten start to the season.

Maier's form has attracted interest from across Europe, and Bild reports that Premier League giants United and Arsenal are among the interested parties.

Both clubs are understood to have sent scouts to watch the Germany Under-21 international and are considering an approach for the youngster.

Maier only signed a new contract with Hertha in February, though, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal which keeps him at the club until 2022.
