Manchester United are reportedly struggling to offload Alexis Sanchez this month due to the Chilean's astronomical wages.

Manchester United are reportedly struggling to offload Alexis Sanchez this summer due to the Chile international's high wages.

The 30-year-old moved to United from Arsenal in January and has failed to impress at Old Trafford, managing just five goals in 45 games.

Reports have claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who sees no future for Sanchez at United, plans to banish the forward to the reserves until he finds a new club.

However, according to the Daily Mail, there are no clubs who are willing to pay Sanchez's wages, which are thought to total £560,000 a week.

Sanchez earns a basic salary of £300,000 a week plus an additional net payment of £100,000 a week as part of a £5m-a-year image rights deal, alongside a sum of £21,370 a week to Fernando Felicevich, the player's representative.

The former Arsenal forward has been linked with a return to Italy, with Roma, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli all reportedly showing interest, but none from that list are willing to match Sanchez's current wage package.
