West Ham United are keen to sign both Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay from Manchester United this summer, according to a report.

West Ham United are reportedly keen to sign both Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay from Manchester United during this summer's transfer window.

The Hammers have now confirmed the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, meaning that head coach David Moyes should have a healthy budget to improve his squad during the current market.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the futures of Maguire and McTominay in recent weeks, with neither believed to be in the plans of Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag moving forward.

According to The Independent, now Rice's transfer has been confirmed, West Ham will step up their interest in McTominay, who is said to be a leading midfield target for the Hammers.

Meanwhile, the report claims that Moyes's team are also keen on Maguire, with a loan move for the England international thought to be a possibility in the current market.

Maguire has seen his wages at Man United increase this summer, and the 30-year-old still has another two years left to run on his deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year.

The former Sheffield United youngster has dropped down the pecking order in terms of the starting roles in the middle of the Red Devils defence, though, only making the first XI in the Premier League on eight occasions during the 2022-23 campaign.

Man United are said to be keen to shift the Englishman on a permanent basis this summer, but a loan move is thought to be more likely due to his huge wage packet.

Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof are all ahead of Maguire in the pecking order for the centre-back spots, while Luke Shaw was also picked ahead of him in that area last season.

McTominay's future is also the subject of much speculation, with a number of Premier League clubs believed to be interested in securing his signature.

Newcastle United were heavily linked with the Scotland international during the January transfer window and are still thought to be in the picture to sign him.

Meanwhile, Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been credited with an interest in the 26-year-old, who only started 10 Premier League matches during the 2022-23 campaign.

West Ham head coach Moyes is not thought to view McTominay as a direct replacement for Rice but believes that the Scot could be a vital player at the London Stadium.

Man United are under pressure to make some first-team sales this summer, as the club look to secure deals for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and Atalanta BC forward Rasmus Hojlund.
