Chelsea legend John Terry is reportedly keen on the Nottingham Forest manager's job, should current boss Chris Hughton face the axe.

Former Chelsea defender John Terry is reportedly interested in the Nottingham Forest manager's job, should current boss Chris Hughton face the axe.

Hughton is under severe pressure already after a dismal start to the new Championship season at the City Ground has seen Forest pick up just one point from their opening five league matches.

Former Aston Villa assistant manager Terry has now been linked with the position should it become vacant, with The Sun reporting that the five-time Premier League winner is keen on the role.

The ex-Chelsea captain left his assistant role at Villa earlier this summer, openly stating that his desire to become a manager himself was the reason behind his departure.

Forty-year-old Terry would be returning to familiar surroundings should he get the job, after he enjoyed a short loan spell at Forest back in 2000, where he played six times.

Current Forest boss Hughton will certainly not give up his job without a fight though, despite his failure to lift his side back towards the top of the Championship table since taking over in October 2020.

Should he fail to earn a positive result at home to Cardiff City on Sunday though, his fate could be sealed.
