Tanguy Ndombele is insisting that his Tottenham Hotspur career is not over following his deadline day loan move to former club Lyon.

Tanguy Ndombele has insisted that his Tottenham Hotspur career is not over following his deadline day loan move to Lyon.

The French midfielder has struggled to adapt in North London since arriving from Lyon for around £54m in the summer of 2019, and after failing to break into the side under both Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte this season, the 25-year-old opted for a temporary return to his former employers for the remainder of the campaign.

The French side do have an option to make the move permanent, but during his official unveiling on his return to the club, Ndombele failed to rule out a return to Spurs following the end of his loan spell.

Speaking to reporters at the conference, Ndombele said: "I've known five coaches in two and a half years. It's not their fault but I had a little trouble at Tottenham. I wanted something else. Lyon, as I know, is better for adaptation.

"Tottenham is not over, I still belong to the club. I did not have any pressure with the amount of my transfer."

After being booed off in his last game at Spurs against Morecambe in the FA Cup at the beginning of January, Ndombele will need to win over the supporters as well as his manager, should he return to the club in the summer.
