Stuart Pearce continues to play down Great Britain's chances of a medal despite a strong start in the men's football tournament.

Great Britain manager Stuart Pearce has moved to play down expectations that the men's football team could be capable of winning a medal.

Pearce's team are unbeaten after two games and need just a point from their last group match against Uruguay on Wednesday to qualify for the knockout stages.

Team GB must remain focused on the next match or their good run in the tournament will come unstuck, according to Pearce.

Pearce said: "I've not seen anything to suggest that any team that beats Brazil will not win the final. I don't think we've been consistently good enough to look beyond the next game.

"I've been absolutely delighted with the support we've had, certainly in numbers, at Manchester and at Wembley and I think that will continue again in Cardiff. We have to put a performance on that makes the crowds want to come time and time again if we can."

Team GB play Uruguay at the Millennium Stadium on Wednesday in an all-important Group A decider.
