Stephen Hunt: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were embarrassing'

Stephen Hunt says that Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were 'embarassing' as they cheered his substitution against Watford.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Stephen Hunt has said that the club's fans were 'embarrassing' during their match against Watford on Friday evening.

Hunt, who made his first Championship start of the season in Wolves's 1-1 draw, was replaced by Jake Cassidy in the second half of the match, with some home supporters cheering the substitution.

"I was shocked when they cheered me coming off. Thanks for that lads. It was my first start in a long time. The fans can be fantastic but they can also be against us as well and that didn't help," Hunt told the Express & Star.

"I'm not going to worry about what happened when I came off. It was more of a shock to me when I was sat there listening to them singing horrific songs. It's embarrassing, it's just embarrassing.

"They may boo me for saying that but I've always been honest. They can be fantastic, as well, so don't get me going all the one way. But to be the way they were, to roll off five or six songs in a row of the calibre they did, they need to have a look at themselves."

Hunt moved to Wolves from Hull City in 2010.
