Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly intend to sign on-loan Porto defender Willy Boly on a permanent deal this summer.

Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly intend to sign on-loan Porto defender Willy Boly on a permanent deal should they gain promotion to the Premier League this term.

The Midlands outfit signed the 26-year-old centre-back from manager Nuno Espirito Santo's former side on a season-long deal last summer and are known to have an exclusive option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Wolves are currently 12 points clear at the top of the Championship table and are firm favourites for the title, leading the club to begin making tentative plans for life back in the top tier next term.

According to the Express & Star, Nuno has already decided that Boly would remain a key part of his defensive plans next season and intends to activate the option this summer.

Boly, who has featured in 17 of Wolves' 26 league games to date, was previously reported to be unhappy with life in the Midlands but the newspaper claims that he is "keen" to commit to the club long-term should promotion be achieved.

Meanwhile, the club are believed to be weighing up whether to take up permanent options on strike duo Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini this month.
