Half-Time Report: Matt Kilgallon's own goal gives Brighton & Hove Albion half-time lead

Blackburn Rovers trail at home to Brighton & Hove Albion thanks to a Matt Kilgallon own goal.

Brighton & Hove Albion lead Blackburn Rovers at half time, through Matt Kilgallon's own goal.

The Seagulls started the match on the front foot, as Emmanuel Ledesma's early free kick was headed narrowly wide by Gordon Greer before Chris O'Grady struck the post from outside the box.

Blackburn's response was positive, and they went close through a speculative effort from Joao Carlos Teixeira which flashed inches wide.

However, the visitors took the lead midway through the half when an O'Grady cross was headed into his own net by Kilgallon.

Blackburn thought they had an equaliser shortly after, but Jordan Rhodes was adjudged to have fouled David Stockdale before he put it in the net from a few yards.

They continued to pile on the pressure, and Stockdale was forced into a fine save to deny Teixeira from distance.
