Half-Time Report: Watford lead at Huddersfield Town

Watford lead Huddersfield Town 2-1 thanks to Daniel Pudil's effort just before half time.

Watford lead 2-1 at Huddersfield Town after an entertaining first half.

The hosts took the lead but were pegged back immediately before a late goal gave Watford the advantage at the break.

The game began in open fashion with Huddersfield seeing more of the ball. Adam Hammill and Oliver Norwood both missed with half chances before the hosts went ahead after 17 minutes.

Danny Ward timed his run to perfection and headed home after meeting Hammill's cross.

The lead did not last for long as two minutes later a nice move down the right was finished excellently by Fernando Forestieri, who volleyed Watford level from the edge of the box.

The match continued to be end-to-end before just before half time a goalkeeping error allowed Watford to take the lead as Daniel Pudil was on hand to tap in Lewis McGugan's free kick.
