Groningen reportedly inform Manchester City that it will cost £6m to sign defender Gabriel Gudmundsson this summer.

Manchester City will reportedly have to pay in excess of £6m if they want to sign Groningen defender Gabriel Gudmundsson.

Despite possessing a number of players who can play at left-back, Pep Guardiola is said to be considering a move for the 21-year-old.

The Sweden Under-21s international has impressed in the Eredivisie this season, contributing five assists from his 20 appearances.

According to AreaNapoli, Groningen have no intention of selling Gudmundsson on the cheap, instead insisting on an asking price in the region of £6m.

Although Gudmundsson currently has just 15 months remaining on his contract, the Dutch side have the option of extending his deal by a further 12 months.

Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Napoli are all said to be monitoring the situation.
