Brighton & Hove Albion reportedly launch a £4.5m bid for Independiente del Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo, who has been strongly linked with Manchester United.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly made a £4.5m bid for Independiente del Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo as they look to beat a number of clubs to his signature.

The 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, but the Red Devils are believed to have cooled their interest, while Chelsea and West Ham United have also been mentioned as suitors.

Caicedo has been capped on four occasions by Ecuador, while he has provided six goals and two assists in 31 appearances at club level in all competitions.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton have launched a £4.5m offer for the teenager and are hopeful of agreeing a deal with Independiente before the end of the weekend.

The report claims that Everton and Newcastle United are also admirers, although the only firm offer from an English club is believed to be from Graham Potter's side.

South American football expert Tim Vickery recently branded Caicedo "the genuine article" and claimed that the youngster "offers more" than Chelsea's N'Golo Kante.
