Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Barcelona

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Barcelona.

Real Madrid will be looking to recover from shock back-to-back defeats when they travel to Camp Nou on Saturday afternoon for El Clasico.

Los Blancos suffered a 1-0 loss to Cadiz in La Liga last weekend before going down 3-2 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side now have the small matter of a trip to Barcelona in Spain's top flight, and there is no downplaying the importance of the contest, even at this stage of the 2020-21 campaign.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Ronald Koeman's side, who also lost their last league game away to Getafe.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscular
Possible return date: Unknown

Eden Hazard has had a terrible time with injuries since arriving at the Bernabeu last summer, and he is currently on the sidelines with a muscular problem. The Belgium international was thought to be working towards being fit for this match, but he could now be on the sidelines until the end of November.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Mouth
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Barcelona)

Madrid could again be without the services of Mariano Diaz for this match as the forward recently underwent surgery for tonsillitis, which saw him lose eight kilograms in weight during the recovery progress. Diaz has now returned to training but is still working his way back to full fitness after the procedure.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Spain international Dani Carvajal is expected to spend the next four to five weeks on the sidelines recovering from a knee injury, with the Spaniard damaging his medial collateral ligament during a training session.

Alvaro Odriozola

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Barcelona)

Alvaro Odriozola has missed Madrid's last three matches with a calf injury that he picked up during a training session earlier this month. The issue kept him out of Wednesday's clash with Shakhtar despite claims that it was not a serious problem, and he remains a doubt for El Clasico.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Martin Odegaard this weekend due to a calf injury, and it is currently unclear when the Norway international might be available for selection.

Sergio Ramos

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: October 24 (vs. Barcelona)

Sergio Ramos was forced off at the interval of last weekend's with Cadiz after suffering a kick to his knee in the first half and was consequently not used against Shakhtar. The Madrid captain has been training this week, though, and is expected to be available for El Clasico in what would be a huge boost for the visitors.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no players suspended for the clash at Camp Nou.
