Sims: 'Every match is massive for Saints'

Southampton winger Josh Sims admits that each of the club's remaining fixtures in the Premier League is "massive" as the Saints looks to remain in the top flight.

Southampton winger Josh Sims has said that he hopes to become "that fresh face" which boosts the club's chances of remaining in the Premier League.

Last weekend, Sims made his first start of the campaign as the Saints registered a goalless draw with Stoke City, a result which sees the club sit one point above the relegation zone.

The south coast outfit face a number of fixtures on their travels throughout March and April, and Sims has acknowledged that the club must find a way of putting together a run of positive results.

The 20-year-old told the club's official website: "Every game now is massive; we have to view them as finals. Away games are different, but we need to pick up points wherever we can.

"I always want to create a spark in the final third, and I'm pleased to be back doing that. I want to try and help the team collect points, because we aren't in a great situation at the moment, so hopefully I can be that fresh face."

Southampton are next in action when they make the long trip to St James' Park to face Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
