Benjamin Jeannot brace helps Lorient win thriller in Toulouse

Benjamin Jeannot scores twice in the space of 50 seconds as Lorient beat Toulouse in a five-goal thriller.

Two goals in 50 seconds from Benjamin Jeannot have helped Lorient edge a five-goal thriller against relegation-threatened Toulouse.

Le Tefece started strong at the Stadium Municipal as Wissam Ben Yedder had an early shot blocked before Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik and Yann Bodiger both missed the target.

Toulouse continued to enjoy the better of the attacking opportunities, with Aleksandar Pesic heading over the bar midway through the first half.

With the break approaching, TFC finally broke the deadlock through a close-range finish from Kana-Biyik.

Lorient, who failed to get a shot on target in the opening period, quickly found their shooting boots as Jeannot scored within moments of the restart.

Fifty seconds later, a stunned Toulouse side found themselves trailing after Jeannot beat Alban Lafont for the second time.

The hosts responded well and equalised before the hour mark through Ben Yedder as Toulouse tried to secure a vital point in their battle against the drop.

However, Walid Mesloub's 77th-minute finish proved enough for Les Merlus to move level on points with Nice.
