Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford suggests that he will be fit for Saturday's Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Marcus Rashford has said that he is "okay" after being forced off the field in the second half of Manchester United's Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The England international was brought back into the starting side against the Reds after being dropped to the bench for the contest with Chelsea last Thursday.

Rashford was substituted in the 66th minute of the game with Liverpool, though, and he appeared to be in discomfort when he departed the field.

Man United head coach Erik ten Hag issued an update after the 2-2 draw with Liverpool, with the Dutchman confident that the attacker did not suffer a serious problem.

"I'm not sure, but I don't think it will be long term," Ten Hag told MUTV when questioned on the forward.

Rashford provides positive fitness update

Rashford has since posted an update on his official Instagram account, claiming that he "will be okay" when questioned on his fitness by a supporter.

The 26-year-old seemingly has a strong chance of being available for Man United's next match, which comes against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday evening.

Rashford has found it difficult to show his best form for the Red Devils this season, only managing eight goals and five assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

The forward has seven goals and two assists in 30 Premier League outings this term, and there remains speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford.

Should Rashford be fit for this weekend's match, Ten Hag must decide whether to start the Englishman or reinstate Antony into the XI, with the Brazilian impressing on his last start against Chelsea.

Criticism of Rashford's performances have continued

Rashford has scored twice in his last five Premier League appearances, finding the back of the net against Manchester City and Everton towards the start of last month.

The Englishman struggled to make his mark in Man United's 1-1 draw with Brentford on March 30, though, and he was a second-half substitute against Chelsea last Thursday.

Rashford again received criticism from sections of the fan base for his work-rate off the bench at Stamford Bridge, but he was brought back into the XI by Ten Hag for the clash with Liverpool.

The attacker again found it difficult to make his mark against Jurgen Klopp's side, failing to register a shot, and he struggled to give the home side an outlet while they were under pressure at Old Trafford.
