Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer denies that an offer was received from Everton for midfielder Donny van de Beek during the summer transfer window.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has denied that an offer was received from Everton for midfielder Donny van de Beek during the summer transfer window.

The Dutch midfielder failed to make an impact at Old Trafford after arriving from Ajax last season, being restricted to just four Premier League starts in his debut campaign in England.

As a result, there were reports of a loan offer made by the Toffees late in the window back in August, but Solskjaer has insisted that no such bid materialised.

"We never received an offer from Everton. To me, he is a Manchester United player," Solskjaer told Dutch outlet RTL7.

"Donny is still working hard. I understand Donny, he is frustrated and disappointed. But he continues to work every day with a big smile."

Van de Beek has been restricted to just three appearances across all competitions so far this campaign, including only eight minutes in the Premier League.

The Dutch international's only starts came at Young Boys in the Champions League and at home to West Ham United in the EFL Cup.
