A report claims that Antonio Conte will remain Chelsea manager until at least the end of the season as Luis Enrique is not prepared to end his sabbatical early.

Chelsea bosses have reportedly reassured Antonio Conte that he will stay on as manager until at least the end of the current campaign.

Conte has been under constant pressure at Stamford Bridge right since the start of the season, not helped by a hugely inconsistent run of form since the turn of the year.

The Blues have won just five of their 14 matches in 2018, most recently going down 2-1 at Manchester United in the Premier League to slip out of the top four.

As questions continue to mount over the 48-year-old's future, rumours recently emerged indicating that former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is the top target to take over.

According to the Daily Star, however, Enrique is not willing to bring an early end to his year-long sabbatical, forcing the English champions to instead stick with Conte for the time being.

Marco Silva, formerly of Hull City and Watford, is another to have been tipped to take on the job in a caretaker capacity, while Louis van Gaal has shot down claims that he is interested in a second crack at Premier League management.
