Ajax reportedly overtake Manchester United in the race to sign Nordsjaelland striker Kamaldeen Sulemana, after both clubs held talks with the 19-year-old.

Ajax have reportedly emerged as favourites to sign Nordsjaelland striker Kamaldeen Sulemana, amid interest from Manchester United.

The 19-year-old scored 10 goals and provided eight assists during his 30 appearances in all competitions this season, and made his senior Ghana debut in October last year.

Both Man United and Ajax have held talks with the youngster in recent weeks, and Nordsjaelland chairman Tom Vernon has valued Sulemana at £15m.

According to Football Insider, the Dutch giants are leading the race to gain Sulemana's signature, partly because they will not need to secure a work permit for the forward.

Under the new Brexit rules, Sulemana does not have enough points to gain a work permit to play in England and therefore a deal to move to Old Trafford could become complicated, but the 19-year-old does only require one more competitive appearance to gain enough points.

Sulemana's contract with Nordsjaelland runs until 2024 having made his debut in 2020, and he has gone on to score 14 goals in 43 appearances for the club.
