Manchester City forward Erling Braut Haaland reportedly has a clause in his contract that could allow him to join Real Madrid in 2024.

Manchester City forward Erling Braut Haaland reportedly has a release clause in his contract that could help secure a move to Real Madrid in 2024.

The European champions were one of a number of clubs linked with Haaland before he completed his summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Man City.

Haaland has enjoyed his time with Man City so far, scoring 17 goals in 11 games, including a hat-trick in the 6-3 win over rivals Manchester United.

Despite having a contract with the Premier League champions until June 2027, according to Marca, Haaland could join Real Madrid in 2024 due to a clause in his deal.

Former Real Madrid player Fernando Sanz has stated that there is a clause that could give Real Madrid an advantage over potential rivals for Haaland's signature.

Sanz told El Chiringuito: "The information I have is that there is an exit clause for Haaland in the second year, and the curious thing is that it has very beneficial conditions compared to the rest for one club, which is Real Madrid."

The Norway international is also believed to have release clauses in his contract that could see him leave the Citizens for €200m (£174m) in 2024 and €175m (£152m) in 2025.

Haaland could feature in Man City's Champions League meeting with FC Copenhagen on Wednesday, where he will be aiming to add to the 26 career goals that he has scored in the competition.
