Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is yet to return to first-team training as he battles a calf problem.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has said that he is "getting there" in terms of his recovery from injury, but the centre-back is yet to return to first-team training.

The England international has missed his side's last two matches against Villarreal and Everton in the Champions League and Premier League respectively due to a calf problem.

There have been suggestions that the defender could return to action against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

However, the 28-year-old has seemingly ruled himself out of the contest at the King Power Stadium by confirming that he has not yet been able to return to first-team training.

"Yeah it's getting there. I still haven't trained yet with the squad, but I am getting better, I am progressing as I should be. It is obviously a frustrating injury for me to get, but I am progressing and I will be back on the pitch soon," Maguire told MUTV.

Man United will definitely be missing Raphael Varane against Leicester due to a groin problem, so Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly could be in line to start as the two central defenders against Brendan Rodgers's side.
