Bayer Leverkusen chief admits Kai Havertz interest from European giants

Sporting director Simon Rolfes admits that Bayer Leverkusen have received significant interest in Kai Havertz from a number of top European clubs.

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes has acknowledged that Kai Havertz is attracting interest from a number of top European clubs.

Having starred for the Bundesliga outfit this season, the 20-year-old is expected to be sold during the next transfer window, potentially for a fee in the region of £70m.

However, despite admitting that the likes of Bayern Munich are admirers of the playmaker, Rolfes has insisted that no decision has been made on the youngster's future.

Rolfes is quoted by Marca as saying: "We don't know yet what will happen to Kai. We know that all the greats from Germany and Europe are after him and that he has the ability to play anywhere.

"He is a fantastic player and, for many years, Bayern has always been behind the young talents of Germany, but we have to wait, there are many factors that can have an influence. His future is not yet decided at all."

Havertz, who is also said to be a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, has contributed 11 goals and five assists in Germany's top flight this campaign.
