Five players Tottenham Hotspur could sign under Antonio Conte

Sports Mole takes a look at five players Tottenham Hotspur could sign under Antonio Conte in 2022.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici are already being tipped to splash the cash in 2022.

The ex-Chelsea and Inter Milan boss will supposedly have a £150m transfer kitty to dip into as he seeks to mould this Spurs squad into his own vision and propel the Lilywhites back into the Champions League.

Given Conte and Paratici's wealth of experience and knowledge of the Italian footballing landscape, the duo are rumoured to have identified several Serie A targets ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at five players Tottenham could sign under Conte.

DUSAN VLAHOVIC

The arrival of Conte has supposedly led Harry Kane to perform a U-turn over his Tottenham Hotspur future, but the lack of competition or possible replacement for the England captain remains a major talking point.

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has admitted that his side's attempts to tie hotshot Dusan Vlahovic down to a new contract have proven unsuccessful, with the 21-year-old expected to be at the centre of a bidding war in the summer of 2022, with his deal expiring in under two years' time.

Tottenham may be forced to battle Manchester City and Juventus for Vlahovic's signature, but the Lilywhites are reportedly already readying an offer in excess of £50m to tempt the Serbian into a London transfer.

MARCELO BROZOVIC

A staple of the Inter Milan team under Conte - starting 29 Serie A games in their Scudetto-winning 2020-21 campaign - Marcelo Brozovic has retained his status as a key player for the Nerazzurri this term under Simone Inzaghi.

However, the 28-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the season, and while he is still being tipped to extend his San Siro stay, a reunion with Conte in North London has unsurprisingly been mooted.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United have also been linked with Brozovic, so Conte and Paratici will have their work cut out if they are to convince the soon-to-be free agent to pull on the white shirt.

FRANCK KESSIE

Another Serie A midfielder set to be in high demand in the summer of 2022, Franck Kessie will represent another high-profile free agent next year if he ultimately decides to run down his AC Milan deal.

An all-action midfielder with a penchant for penalties - scoring 11 spot kicks in the 2020-21 Serie A season - Kessie is thought to be unhappy with the wages being offered to him by the Rossoneri, but he will supposedly not have any problems on that front with Spurs.

Indeed, a recent report claimed that Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign the Ivorian as a free agent on an £8.5m-per-year deal, and his capture would represent quite the coup for Spurs in the early days of the Conte era.

STEFAN DE VRIJ

With Conte already understood to be utilising his favoured 3-5-2 in training, a new centre-back would not go amiss, and the Italian has reportedly already identified his leading target for the rearguard.

Stefan de Vrij started 30 Serie A games under Conte last season, and Inter are not exactly in a strong position when it comes to any negotiations, with the 29-year-old's deal due to expire in the summer of 2023.

However, the Scudetto winners will supposedly still demand a figure of £40m to sanction De Vrij's exit, but such a fee could prove worthwhile for a player whom Conte is understood to rate very highly.

ANDREA BELOTTI

The Serie A free agent market could look very enticing indeed by the close of play this season, with Torino's Andrea Belotti another player who sees his deal expire in under 12 months' time, and the striker will certainly not be short of potential suitors.

Injuries have prevented the 27-year-old from making a real impact so far this term - scoring twice in six Serie A appearances - but a tally of 107 strikes from 235 games for Torino is an eye-catching record as Spurs prepare the transition to two up top.

However, the Lilywhites could supposedly have to fend off interest from London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in order to land Belotti, who may feel that next year will be the right time to seek out a new challenge under his compatriot Conte.
